Smash Burger Tacos

A delicious fusion of smashed burger patties served in crispy taco shells with all the fixings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Burger sauce (mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish)
  • Pickled jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Divide ground beef into 8 small balls
  2. Heat a cast iron skillet until very hot
  3. Place beef balls on skillet and smash thin with a spatula
  4. Season with salt and pepper
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes until crispy
  6. Flip and cook for 1 minute more
  7. Warm tortillas in a separate pan
  8. Assemble tacos with meat, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese
  9. Top with burger sauce and jalapeños if desired
